Prosthetic Eye — Roland Scott in Chicago, IL

Roland Scott, B.C.O.

Roland is a second generation ocularist, beginning his career in 1974. He became a member of the American Society of Ocularists in 1983. His commitment to continuing education and quality care means patients of ophthalmologists receive the individualized services and counseling that feature the latest ocular prosthesis technology. He has continued to follow in his father's footsteps running the company with the same personalized services that have been affiliated with the Scott family name throughout the years.

Roland has quite the camaraderie amongst his patients. Parents are at ease when he is working with
their newborn, young child, or that sometimes difficult teenager. Roaldn works hard to make the whole family comfortable, listening to parents' comments or concerns. He is equally attentive to his patients young and old, showing his caring, gentle nature along with his high standards of patient satisfaction.

Prosthesis Fitting — Nicole Walker in Chicago, IL

Nicole Walker, B.C.O.

Nicole is our new generation of ocularists, beginning her career in 2009 as a lab tech for Roland Scott. She attended University of Illinois and received her degree with high honors in 2015 in Community Health with a focus on Health Education and Promotion. Since then, she completed her internship by practicing full time at our office and received her board certification by the National Examining Board of Ocularists. In addition, she is a Diplomat at the American Society of Ocularists. She serves on the Board of the College of Ocularistry and has delivered several presentations to the American Society of Ocularists, the most recent of which is entitled “Camera Shy,” a discussion of the unique challenges faced by patients with monocular vision. She has hosted training clinics for ocularistry students at our downtown office and remains active in promoting the future of the ocularistry profession.
Nicole continues the Robert B. Scott tradition of providing the highest level of care and the latest technology that patients expect. She herself was a patient at our office since she was a month old. This laid the foundation of her interest in ocular prosthetics at a young age. She is well-versed in all aspects of patient care and fabrication/fitting of ocular prostheses. She frequently meets with ophthalmologists to consult on individual cases. Nicole is passionate about her commitment to her patient’s health and well-being, and wants every patient to be as comfortable with their prosthesis as she is with hers.
